How do we place value on items?

Firstly, we need to establish what the valuation is for. There are a number of different value figures depending on the exact requirements of the client. Do the assets need to be valued where it is in operational condition including all installation costs or is it a liquidation where the value needed is that which will be achieved in the quickest possible time. The valuer will then develop the method of valuation dependant of the type and quality of information available, this can, for example, be based on the income of the asset or the original and replacement cost of the asset. Lastly, the valuer will align the actual asset being valued with his calculations and adjust for useful life remaining, overall condition and both micro and macro environmental conditions pertaining at the time of valuation.
